Precision
Grading Company Laser-Grade® both sand and concrete ice rinks.
When ice
rinks are being constructed it is most important that the fine grading
is totally accurate. If the rink is not perfectly level the ice will
be thicker in some places. This causes hard or soft spots on the ice
and it makes it a lot harder to maintain the proper ice conditions for
hockey or figure skating. Laser Grader laser grading service can consistently
accomplish close tolerance grading to 1/8th of an inch. Whether it is
the sand over the heating pipes or the sand over the freezing pipes
Precision Grading will Laser-Grade ® to the same strict tolerance.
The laser-grader ® weighs only 3,200 pounds, it does not damage
the heating or freezing pipes, the laser-grader ® drives right over
these with no problems.
The most
interesting ice rink project to date is in Nyack, NY at the Palisade
Mall. The sand over the heating pipes were Laser-Graded ® the day
before Thanksgiving '97. The ice rink is on the fourth floor. The Laser-Grader
® was lifted by crane approximately 60 feet to an opening in the
outside wall. After the grading was completed, the Laser-Grader ®
was safely lowered by the crane. The following week after the styrofoam
and freezing pipes were installed, Precision Grading returned to laser-grade®
the final layer of sand and again trusted the Laser-Grader ® to
the crane operator.
